Shepherdstown Florist Westvirjeni and Moments by Misty Collaborate to Style a Winter Anniversary Inspirational Shoot

I wanted to work with Misty on a styled-shoot, so when the opportunity presented last weekend, I jumped on it!    Together we collaborated to style and capture a ten year anniversary shoot at the Rumsey Monument in historic Shepherdstown, West Virginia. With help from Sarah Hott, for hair and make-up, Dana Knowles with Dana's Tuxedo, Becky Mack McGraw with Beckaboo's Cakes, and Liz Hackney of Fringe Lizzie, we had a great time while she captured some amazing images.

Misty came up with the overall vision for the shoot.  Here is what she told me:

I always love being able to do creative and collaborative shoots. I had recently shot a few things at Rumsey Monument and wanted to see what I could do there if I really could take my time and do what I wanted. I had wanted to do something beautiful and romantic and with Valentine’s Day coming incorporate this beautiful vintage dress that I had. I knew that Rose would be the perfect model for this. I actually never use “real models”, I love shooting regular people because I think they are so much more interesting and everyone has something beautiful about them. For this shoot, I knew Rose had the romance, sensuality, and vintage appeal I was looking for, in fact, she was the only person I wanted. I wanted the shoot to be oozing with romance, a touch of timeless old Hollywood, and just the right amount of whimsy.

Rose wore a crushed red velvet, vintage Jessica McClintock dress with nude, suede heels by Steve Madden.  She was adorned with a Ciner antique cascading crystal necklace and matching earrings from   She wore a lace shawl, designed by Misty and hand sewn by Fringe Lizzie.  She carried a romantic, cascading bouquet, designed by Westvirjeni, in a red to blush ombre, filled with David Austin Piano and Juliet roses, tulips, ranunculus, astilbe, sweet peas, anemone, seeded and feather eucalyptus and plumosa.  Greg wore a deep blue tuxedo from Dana's tuxedo ( with a winter white shirt and tie with a vintage lace handkerchief pocket square.

Rose and Greg were the perfect couple and it just so happened to be their ten year wedding anniversary. To celebrate their love and enduring commitment to one another they had a romantic and intimate exchange of words and affection while Misty captured the beauty of the moment atop the scenic and historic Rumsey Monument with the chilly Potomac river as the backdrop.

As the sun began to set, they toasted with champagne in gorgeous burgundy goblets, sipped on hot-tea, and nibbled on sweet cake, by Becakboo's Cakes, at a sweetheart table styled by Westvirjeni.  The delicious vanilla cake was three-tiered and in a cream, red, pale pink, and gold palette, with intricate patterns and details.  Their table-for-two included beautiful, vintage, milk glass table sets, with hand-painted gold edges, from the private collection of Westvirjeni.  Matching gold flatware and blush linen napkins from Pier-One complimented the milk glass compote floral centerpiece.  It was romantic and intimate and a beautiful way for them to celebrate their love.
